Seems like v5.0 has been released too early, as it doesn’t work (“The data couldn’t be read because it isn’t in the correct format).

Same here… but I miss the b&w, these new colors are awful!

I updates MenuWeather to Orbis in April 3rd. The new version did not work and I went-back to MenuWeather which works very fine. But what I do not understrand is that despite the numerous comments complaining about Orbis, the developer did not produce a working version of its software so fare...

There is a Bug! The app does not update the location automatically. Is necessary restart the App to update the location.

Man, this sucks, this will only show info from the United States, nothing in Europe !!!

Just bought the app, and it works really well. Also has the weather forecasts for European cities. The radar screen for the regional weather could be improved to be more accurate, and rain radar for Europe would give the app the 5th star! Otherwise the forecasts are good and as accurate as any other weather app ;)

Update (4/1/14) MenuWeather 5.0 is coming soon Well, despite the fact that I know that programming requires skills and takes time, don’t use the phrase ‚coming soon‘ when you need several months for the update. It is July and this fall Apple will release OSX 10.10, which has the feature to pleasantly show you the weather built in. Had I known, that this update would take this long to be released, I wouldn’t have bought the App in the first place. Moreover, there is no news regarding your update, whether you look on the twitter feed or the website. More transparency would be appreciated, even if you’ve decided to cancel the update. There are customers out there who decided to support your work on the update. Thanks in advance!

Orbis doesn’t work … MenuWeather was fine. Orbis only gives one Information: The data couldn’t be read because it isn’t in the correct format. Neither „retry“ nor „Preferences" solves the problem. No chance … or never change a running system.

Very good app ! I think its actually the only one on the AppStore giving the temperatures option "feel like temperature" :-)) That I was looking for since a long time now. Its a shame that other good apps competing on the same level (Degrees, etc…) doesnt have this little option ! In fact MenuWeather have plenty of options :-) So whatever youre looking for its THE app that you should have the best chances to find what you need. I have seen some comments from users complaining about "localization" (MenuWeathe doesnt localize correctly your city in some cases)… but after searching on the application support (link on this page if you read my comment) there is an explanation for that on the F.A.Q of the MenuWeathers website. Personnally I dont have any localization problem :-) Concerning "problems" I have one actually with the latest version (4.2.1) which was not there when I had the previous version : a click on the menu weather informations in the menu bar doesnt display anymore 3/5/7 days forecast but just the "today forecast" :-( I know the todays forecast, its on my left side by my window. Thanks computer ^^ This "little" problem is not something crucial for me (but for others maybe) and thats the only reason I dont give 5 stars. After contacting the support some month ago about that, they said me a new version has been submited to Apple and will solve this situation… but…. still waiting :-D Btw, I use my Dashboard to look at up to 2 weeks forecast from specific websites. So I dont really need that accessible by my menubar in fact… but its a feature, its possible so I want it :-) Special thanks to the developper to have keeped MenuWeather without any commercial/spam (follow my eyes to "MeteoMedia" booooh ! shame on you guys !!) Im trying this app. Its ok, but it could be better. I like how theres Growl support built into this app, but my biggest complaint is that its not accessible at all. I had to get sighted assistance to access the preferences to add my cities and others. Also, my biggest disappointment is that I cant have it placed in the doc, because even though Ive had my sighted assistant check the box where it says "Launch Menuweather at startup", it doesnt. I will keep this app because I like how it will notify me about watches and warnings, but in my opinion, you would attract more blind users to this app if it were Voiceover compatible.

this is a good app but it shows failed deternming location pretty often when i log in my mac. my place is in tuscany, calgary, alberta, canada.

Very solid app, does what its supposed to.

The app does more then I need in a simple and clean interface, it even flashes a warning when inclement weather is happening. Other apps seemed to be more invaisive, I like the fact this isnt tied to google, or to Facebook, I like this app because it doesnt have the ads or so much spying. Been usin it constantly, well worth the purchase price.

This app is the best I have ever used. Well worth the price. I am in Ontario Canada and compared to other programs, this one hands down gives you accurate and detailed weather. It is easy to use and understand.

I bought I installed I like! Will be great when autolaunch at startup is working.

This is my favorite weather app, and the most accurate forecast with lots of detail. I set it to launch at startup on my Mac using System Preferences/Users & Groups/Login Items and all is well. I recommend this app.

The app is good, except its not fully functional. You will not be able to have it start automatically at start-up. The checkbox for "open at startup" is there, but after you click it, the checkmark disappears and I restarted my computer and this app wont start. I have to open it manually. Waste of $1.99. There are free apps that actually function properly so I would recommend those over this one. At least until the developer finishes it. UPDATE: I received the following reply to the email I sent to the developer regarding the problem I mention above: "This is due to a bug in Mac OS X. Im currently looking for a workaround." So basically hes blaming Apple. I doubt its Apples problem.

Provides weather info but does not support Canadian locations fully: -no ability to select the different (national/regional/local) views for Canadian locations -when manually adding a location, searching for locations in Canada is hampered by lack of indication of province for most searches. I also noticed the weather source used by the app does not agree with The Weather Channel forecast (Penetang -5cm snow [TWC] vs. 0 forecasted by the app!). Look elsewhere if you want Canadian weather forecasting.

I used to love this app but now have to trash it. All it does is display a perpetual rotating pinwheel and there is no way to quit it other than a force-quit in Activity Monitor. Please allow those of us who are having this problem to go back to 4.2.3 which worked great.

App still hangs from time to time. No way to force quit since its on menu bar. Please fix the hang issue. Otherwise it works great. Will rate 5/5 once issue addressed.
